Ancestor Altar

Ancestor Altar

The Ancestor Altar is located at the back of first floor, behind the Grand Hall. The main deities presented on this altar are Amitabha Buddha, Avalokitesvara Bodhisattva, and Ksitigarbha Bodhisattva. The altar also honors the Golden Mother of the Jade Pond, Padmakumara, Skanda Bodhisattva, Sangharama, and others.

The Ancestor Altar in our temple provides registration for memorial plaques to dedicate to one’s ancestors, karmic creditors, and the spirits of babies. In addition to the offerings made on a daily basis to these spirits, the temple also performs a deliverance ceremony every other week. Furthermore, Master Lianseng invites these spirits, and delivers them to the Western Pure Land in our monthly ceremonies. Therefore, an ancestor memorial plaque registration in the True Buddha Vijaya Temple not only benefits the living by allowing one to express their filial piety and respect for their ancestors, it benefits the deceased as well.
